After watching the live coverage of the testimony of former FBI Director James Comey; I couldn’t help but remember my own college days of working for Texas State Senator “Doc” Blanchard, and also working as a Tour Guide for the State Capitol & Governor’s Mansion.
There was always excitement amidst the halls of the Capitol when the Texas legislature was in session. I remember Senator Blanchard coming back from the Senate floor when he had gotten so upset about something that had happened. He would be huffing & puffing on his cigar & shaking his head. And, I’ll never forget the day when I was in the Capitol Rotunda giving a tour to a group of school children & Governor Preston Smith came up behind me & tapped me on the shoulder to interrupt me so he could say something to them. It was as exciting to me as it was to the children.
My prayers will always be that truth & justice will prevail in our great nation.
