The Importance of Listening

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to hear about someone’s trip back home to Illinois to visit his family.  He shared how differently farming is being done there today because everything is mechanized, and not labor intensive as it was when he was growing up.  He also said that the farmers there rely on receiving rain for their crops and do not irrigate.

I realized I was hearing about his love for the land his family owned and his pride in having been a part of something important.  If we are willing to take the time to listen, we’ll be blessed.
